Nightlife in New York City

If you're looking for the trendiest, hip places to be seen in New York, there are a host of nightspots where the hippest New Yorkers are always on the scene. Try Ward III, located at 111 Reade Street in Tribeca. This is a new cocktail bar, created by Michael Neff, Abdul Tabini and Kenneth McCoy. It's interesting and trendy because the bartenders let you pick and choose ingredients, like spices, fruits, and liquors, to create your very own super-custom cocktails. Another trendsetter is the Beauty Bar, located at 921 Broadway in Brooklyn is kitschy, retro, and totally hip. This is a made over beauty salon that retains vintage hairdryers that are now the bar's lamps. If you like the idea of 50s salon with all the details, the Beauty Bar is for you. If you love brandy, you'll love the Brandy Library, located at 25 North Moore Street in Tribeca. This intimate lounge offers up over 1,000 bottles in their "library," and those bottles line the walls of the Library. The menu of drinks reads more like a novel than a menu, and it's a trendy spot to meet before moving off to dinner at one of many restaurants in the area. If you're looking for great live music, try Bemelmans Bar, located at 35 East 76th Street, near Park Avenue. They offer some of the best entertainment in New York, and a high cover charge makes sure the audiences enjoy the show. If you're looking for a pre-theater drink, or free music, try Chez Josephine, located at 414 West 42nd Street. The décor is Paris, 1930, and they offer free music, too. If you're looking for a party bar, try Tonic Bar & Restaurant, located at 727 Seventh Avenue. This big, loud, and swinging bar is a gathering place for singles, and they offer special theme nights throughout the year.
